The Lord was betrayed with a kiss from Judas Iscariot. Someone tried to defend Jesus with a sword and cut off a soldier's ear, but Jesus rebuked that person and healed the soldier's ear. He was accused of blasphemy. Peter, as Jesus said before, denied His companionship three times and cried afterwards. Jesus claimed to be the King of the Jews to the people. He did not fight back nor use physical weapons. They exonerated a murderer over Him. They were able to exonerate a prisoner over Him at one occasion and they did not choose Jesus. They chose the murderer instead. They flogged Him and stripped Him of His clothing. They dressed Him as a king and twisted a crown of thorns and placed it on His head and made a reed and placed it in His hand. They acted as if they were worshipping Him. They spat on Him and hit him with the reed. After that they placed His own clothes on Him and took Him to be crucified. They took His clothes by random. Three days later, as He promised, He came to life!
Notice, He could have taken the cup of rebellion, stubborness, idolatry, and witchcraft, but He choose not to. He knew what was at stake. He chose the Spirit over the flesh. We should also choose that path. It should be our only way. In the Spirit, we will find true life. We should seek Him. He won His fight. Our fight may not be like His, but we need to be constantly in Jesus in order to have vctory.
