The fear of the Lord is greatly needed. It is a necessity. It does not mean that we need to be afraid of the Lord, it means something completely different. The Lord is our Father. There is no one else. He deserves reverence and respect. In fact, we need to submit and to obey Him. He is in charge. There is no other. The fear of the Lord involves taking the Lord seriously. It involves investing our very own lives into Him. If you have read the parables of the minas or the talents about the servants. Those who invested the talents received more, but the one who didn't lost his. We need to invest our lives and come out with fruits. The Lord wants fruit to come from us. If we love Him, we will obey Him. Obedience is not legalism, and obedience does not save. Jesus does. The fear of the Lord does not save. Jesus does. Although the fear of the Lord does lead to riches, honor, and life. There are benefits to it. We should choose it. The fear of the Lord leads to wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Wisdom and knowledge are not the same thing. Wisdom is good sense. Knowledge is facts and figures. There's a difference. Choose the fear of the Lord, you will benefit. The Lord knows your hearts. Trust in Him.
